Burch's School of Karate's Little Dragons Program is a great start for your little ones. The Little Dragons class is 2 times a week in ½ hour sessions. Our Little Dragons classes will have limited class sizes for more individual attention. Our goal for the Little Dragons is to concentrate on skills such as listening, coordination, character education, getting along with others, and having lots of fun!!! We are offering a fantastic trial for our Little Dragons Program. For only $9.95 your child will receive one private orientation class and two regular group classes. If your child brings a friend to his/her first orientation class, we will give you the official Little Dragons uniform free of charge!!! Kids need Karate for many reasons. However, we believe the main reasons parents want their children in Karate is to achieve two things: self-confidence and/or self-control. At Burch's Karate, we strive to make each student that comes into our door not only better physically and technically but to make a positive impact on that student's life. The goal for our students is to see self-esteem, self-control, and achievement grow. We try to "blanket" this learning with FUN! Burch's Karate has several programs to help your children achieve the keys to a successful life: S.T.A.R. -- A nationwide character education program based on Stop Think Act and Review. Monthly themes and activities are practiced throughout the month. For more information on our S.T.A.R. Program, click here. Academic Achievement -- Children are encouraged to bring in report cards and progress reports. They will earn embroidered stars, which should be proudly displayed on their uniform. Along with the academic stars, children can earn raffle tickets for prizes drawn at our monthly pizza party. Pizza Parties -- Every month, we hold a pizza party for the kids and their friends. However, the children must bring a pass confirming that they have been listening to Mom and Dad, doing homework, and cleaning their room. Children have to deal with competition everyday; competing with their peers for grades, school sports, gym classes, playground activities, etc. Here at Burch's Karate, we set an individual goal for each student, where they only compete with themselves, not others. Adult classes are offered six days a week, early afternoon and evening time. is designed to teach students to: Accept the consequences of their actions. Use the S.T.A.R. decision making model to solve problems and resolve conflicts. Develop and improve self-confidence, self-esteem, and positive attitudes. Set and achieve realistic goals. Accept that attendance at class, punctuality, and reliability, are part of being personally responsible. After they have successfully completed the the monthly theme and activity, students are rewarded with a S.T.A.R. pin of achievement, to wear proudly on their Karate uniform. |
